Art: The Sun-maiden's raiment

Artist: Rhapsody the Bard rhapsodythebard
Title: The Sun-maiden's raiment
Rating: General
Inspiration:
Too bright were the eyes of Arien for even the Eldar to look on, and leaving Valinor she forsook the form and raiment which like the Valar she had worn there, and she was as a naked flame, terrible in the fullness of her splendour.

- "Of the Sun and Moon and the Hiding of Valinor" The Silmarillion
Media: Photos & photoshop brushes.
Artist's Notes: original photography by I'kido and Cecilia Johansson (royalty free). A few brushes were used from Annika von Holdt and Brushlovers. The rest is my own handiwork.

That is so beautiful! The border sets it off wonderfully. I am glad you posted both versions-- I love seeing the artistic details in the first, and the lettering is just perfectly chosen in the second!

The border was a great find in my brush-sets, it just fits her elegance. :) I am still in love with both versions, as you say: both have their charm. Thank you!

I like the contrasts of the two styles that somehow still manage to fit together as a set. This one has all the drama of the early Silm while the other is more subtle and romantic (is that the right word for it?) Very well conceived, sweetie.

The fire, energetic and dramatic departure of Arien (which is being explored in a shelved novella), vs the cool, calm of the moon and yet the hunter that catches his wanted prey, be it for that moment only to let go. Those were my thoughts when I worked on that, tickling the muses. Thanks sweety!

Wow, this is intense. I like the colors, and their facial expressions. And, the way I'm looking at it at any rate, there seems to be a very stylized phoenix near the center.

Great companion piece to Tilion! The colors and composition practically radiate heat.
