Summary: Legolas remembers.

I listened as he spoke of trees as grasping things
rustling leaves fearsome with sounds menacing and lacking voice
the scent of green suffocating and without comfort
Yet he ventured beside me through realms
of encircling sentinels solely on trust
When I recall his courage
to embrace my paths
with opening heart
My spirit
sings

Thank you very much! I've explored this wonderful friendship over the years in my fanfic, and enjoyed trying to express it in so few few words.

It's like a look into Frodo's soul. And a lovely picture of friendship. Beautiful.

Oh, goodness, I see it's about Legolas and Gimli. I saw Frodo and Sam in it first, but I can see the friendship of Elf and Dwarf in it too.

This is truly beautiful. I wonder who Legolas is thinking about?

Thank you for explaining what a dribble is. I didn't know.

In my imagination, it's Gimli.

Dribbles are interesting! It was challenging to get down to one word.

Beautiful! I love the way it pairs down to what is most important and fundamental about his love, respect, and gratitude to Gimli through the structure of the poem to the heart of an elf--song. Skillfully done, bb. (-:

I guess it makes me think most of their visit to Fangorn, although I suppose it applies to Lothlorien as well and probably to other woods, too!
The dribble works really well here--opening out like the heart.
