Sing All Ye People

"The sun was low in the western skies, when Manwë's wind did cleanse the air--"

Arwen winced as the high note cracked, and only by strength of will didn't cover her ears. She quickly put on a pleasant expression as the singer appeared around the corner, heading for the dining hall.

"The troops all cheered Sauron's demise, and--Good morning, Mother!" Eldarion interrupted the song to greet her. "Happy Cormarë!" He gave her a hug and continued down the hall. "--And eagles brought the Ringbearers home from there!"

She would be so glad when Eldarion's voice finally settled!

Oh, thanks so for a dearly beloved laugh! Poor Eldarion! Being at that age when voices change is difficult at best! And poor Arwen! Heh!

Poor Arwen, but a sweet story here, especially when the singer is revealed to be her own beloved son. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Okay, so looking at the title to this and the summary I immediately thought of the countertenor eagle in the BBC radio version of LotR and had to laugh (somehow the volume balance on my recording is off and it really sounds like an in-tune screech at the end!). The fact that it was Eldarion in the end not only brought my experiences more in line with canon at the end, though--it also made me smile. Thanks.

This is hilarious. Did they make earplugs in Middle Earth?

Absolutely priceless! At first, I wondered if Arwen was just displaying hyper-sensitivity to tone-deaf mortals, but I had a loud guffaw when the singer was revealed to be Eldarion. Ah, the trials of boyhood on the cusp of adulthood.

Cute! And I must add that, while scrolling through posts it was a pleasant surprise to see the White Tree again (your icon). I really should find and finish my cross-stitch of that...

Actually, the icon belongs to Dreamflower. I couldn't access the community to post my drabble in the queue because of work's security levels on the computer, and I still don't know when I'm going to get my netbook back from the repair place. So Dreamflower was kind enough to post it for me.

I'm so pleased that everyone likes this. :)
