Remembrance by Arwen

Reposting as not certain it got through last week (can't remember if it was Tuesday or Wednesday when I first psoted).

Author: arwen75
Title: Remembrance
Rating: G
Elements: true love, great heart, forget-me-not (true love)
Beta: None
Author's Notes: First time writer for here – and for once I decided to be short. As you may find words normally pour out but I decided to challenge myself to stick to a drabble. Hopefully you will like.
Summary: Remembering a lost love with the help of a little flower.
Word Count: 100

She wandered through the gardens surrounding her new home - full of both the familiar and the unfamiliar. Hidden away in a wild area she saw that delicate blue which made her stop. True love they signified, those tiny flowers – to her the memory of love once known and the great heart of he whom she loved. Gone he may be from her now but in time, Eru would see them reunited. For now she had to keep her hope safe for all their people.

She returned to those forget-me-not flowers many times in the years she lived in Imladris.

I love the idea of forget-me-nots giving Arwen hope.

This is wonderful! At first, I thought Arwen-- but then, suddenly it occurred to me, it could also be Gilraen.

I thought Gilraen too - and agree - it's lovely.

Gilraen it was I was thinking of when I was writing this - I did originally have name in there but preferred it as it ended up....So yes it is deliberately a bit ambiguous as Arwen wanted a say in it...

And thanks for the compliments - I was nervous about posting as it is so long since I have written anything that doesn't involve engineering or education research.

Thank you - this wrote itself when I got the elements. And as I couldn't decide whether I meant Gilraen or Arwen in the end I left it to be both :)

I thought this was lovely for Gilraen but also Arwen!

I had Gilraen in mind originally but then Arwen came up as well. And they both refused to let go so it got set ambiguously.....

Very sweet. Gilraen?

It was originally but I think Arwen decided it would apply to ehr so I deliberately took any name out so it could apply to both.

I was the other way round - wrote it for Gilraen but then Arwen decide she wanted a look in as well. So in the end it is for both

Thank you. I enjoyed getting back to writing something for myself. recently I seem to spend my time writing proposals and correcting English for colleagues & students.

Lovely idea and it's great how much feeling you could put in 100 words. Good job!
