Roast Mutton Revisited by Dreamflower

Author: Dreamflower
Title: Roast Mutton Revisited
Theme: Halloween/Harvest
Elements: This quotation from Chapter II of The Hobbit:
“A nice pickle they were all in now: all neatly tied up in sacks, with three angry trolls sitting by them, arguing whether they should roast them slowly, or mince them fine and boil them, or just sit on them one by one and turn them into jelly…”
Rating: PG for violence
Author's Notes: I’ve long pondered the differences between certain creatures, such as trolls, as they are portrayed in The Hobbit and the way they are portrayed in LotR. Long ago, I came to the conclusion that Bilbo had somewhat sanitized and bowdlerized the version of the story that he deemed fit to tell to the children who were often listening to his tales. So you could say that this is AU to The Hobbit.
All quotations in italics are from The Hobbit, Chapter II, “Roast Mutton”.
