2017 April Poetry Challenge: Ode to Arda

The April Challenge will have the theme "Ode to Arda".  Here is the definition of an ode:

Definition of Ode
An ode is a form of poetry such as sonnet or elegy, etc. Ode is a literary technique that is lyrical in nature, but not very lengthy. You have often read odes in which poets praise people, natural scenes, and abstract ideas. Ode is derived from a Greek word aeidein, which means to chant or sing. It is highly solemn and serious in its tone and subject matter, and usually is used with elaborate patterns of stanzas. However, the tone is often formal. A salient feature of ode is its uniform metrical feet, but poets generally do not strictly follow this rule though use highly elevated theme.

More information about an ode can be found where this definition is located, at Literary Devices.net

The subject of the ode can be any aspect of Arda: nature, characters, history, special places or events, etc.

Prompts for the challenge will be a pair of rhyming words, although you do not necessarily have to use them to make rhymes in your poem, but may use them as you wish.

The April challenge poems may be entered into the queue at any time this month, and will be revealed on Monday, April 17 .  Please tag your story "annual challenge: poetry" and "month: 2017 april"  Please remember to use the following header template (also found on the community profile page), and to put the name of your story and your name in the subject line.
