Art: Sunset in Hollin by Dreamflower

Artist: Dreamflower
Title: Sunset in Hollin
Rating: G
Theme: Miniature
Element: something tiny
Media: Decoupage
Artist's Notes: "Sunset in Hollin" was made using a screencap image of the Fellowship in silhouette and wrapping tissue in various colors to create the sunset. The material was applied to Bristol board using ModPodge™. It measures about 2" by 3".

"Gandalf walked in front, and with him went Aragorn, who knew this land even in the dark. The others were in file behind, and Legolas, whose eyes were keen was the rearguard..." (FotR, Book II, Chapter III, "The Ring Went South"

That's so imaginative! I used to do pics like that with stamping - never thought of using paper. Hmmm...

Silhouettes against a sunset (or sunrise) can be done in so many ways. I love the effect of it.

Thanks! I wanted to do it even smaller, but even with the tiny scissors I used, I couldn't manage a smaller size.

That is beautiful. It works really well.

I tried to do Faramir and Eowyn on the walls of Minas Tirith--didn't work so well! (I retired that effort.)

Oh, that would make a lovely scene! Wow! Maybe you can try again sometime!

And thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

Beautiful - and so tiny! Tissue paper is such a versatile medium, we use it a lot at school too.

There is nothing more versatile than tissue and Mod Podge (or messier, unless you add glitter to it).
