Green Dragon by Erulisse

I ran out of time to photograph my dragon until today, so it's a bit late.  I paint 28mm metal miniatures as a hobby, and he's my newest.  He stands 44mm tall (1-3/4 inches) from the bottom of the base to the top of his head spines and his wingspan is 129mm 5-1/16 inches).  His body is 88mm (3-7/16 inches) long.  I'm not sure how long he took to paint, I tend to grab my spare time in bits and fits.  He doesn't have a name yet, but he joined other finished mini dragons on one of my corner shelves.  I use acrylic paints and Windsor & Newton Series 7 3/0 brushes for my minis.  I hope you enjoy...

He is very fierce looking! I love the texture you brought out on his wings.

Thanks so much! I tried to upload it yesterday and messed up the coding, but today all worked well. I have a house full of dragons, well more than 90 of them, and I still have at least another 50 in all types of sizes awaiting paint.

I really love painting and doing my 3-D pieces is so much fun.

Thanks. If he could only fly, he would probably love to visit for a while :-)

He is beautiful. My soup dragon may well be in love!

Oh, I love your soup dragon - how adorable (for something with scales and lots of teeth :-)

Very nice! And I love that typeface. I have seen you it before and I always like it.

Thanks so much! The typeface is Aniron. I love it and use it quite a lot, along with some Arts & Crafts fonts like Eaglefeather and the Tolkien typeface.

Your level of detail is amazing. If you had not told us his dimensions, I would have taken him for much larger. Beautiful work! Perhaps sometime you'd share photos of your other dragons?

Thank you so much. I really love painting miniatures. I paint the dragons and also figurines of varied races/types. I love sitting there with mag lenses over my glasses and a three-hair brush in my hand blending colors and figuring out light directions, shadows, shading, etc. I have a lot of fun with it.

There are some mini painters out there who are nothing less than incredible. I paint an above-average mini, but I am far down from the top of the group. They are drool-worthy and completely amazing!

There are other LOTR Art contests, so perhaps there will be reason to paint another dragon at some point :-)

So he's a male dragon? He's a very good-looking one!

He's male and he's VERY vain (but sweet). He's still young, he has some growing up to do.

90 dragons? 8) I love dragons.

I really like the red stripe down his spine.

Thanks very much. He was one of the easier ones to paint. I've been trying to get an ice dragon painted for more than two years and keep stripping off the paint because he's turning too blue. That pale blue ice tone is very hard to shade without going into the sapphire tones (sigh).

Thank you so much! He is very happy and preening in his corner as I type (he's getting a bit puffed up from all of the praise - LOL).

I've posted him for you over at MPTT. You may want to edit the entry-- I only included the most basic info.

Oh, thank you. I posted my stories, but completely forgot my artwork. I'll double-check my spreadsheet and try to make sure I didn't miss anything :-)

We mods try to remember to post the challenge entries if the authors/artists don't. Usually I wait a little longer, to give them the chance, but since tomorrow's the deadline for eligibility in the Tree and Flower awards, I wanted to make sure I got them in.

Pearl Took handles the stories-- so I don't know if she will get those in as quickly.

I keep a spreadsheet of where I post and what stories I have written, it's the only way I can keep track. I uploaded the last of my stories and the other artwork last night. Thanks so much again, you're a marvel!
