The March 2010 Challenge: Mad as a March Hare

The March Challenge stories, with the theme of "Mad as a March Hare" has now been posted. The idea was to write a story in which a character seemed "mad" or acting strangely or out-of-character-- for a reason! The element for these stories was a type of weather. We’ve had seven entries so far.

The Mad as a March Hare Challenge

On a Fence by the Pond by Pearl Took
In which Pippin's eldest sister Pearl faces a dilemma.
The Day After Sam Trimmed the Grass by Dreamflower Why is the usually cheerful and sunny Sam in a stormy and unpredictable mood?
No Help for It by Larner The weather is hot and dry, and Frodo particularly appears unsettled by it.
Spring Dance by Leianora It is better to do something late than never do it at all, most of the time.
Tie Me to This Our Ancient Earth by Mercurie Éowyn takes up her first sword.
Dark is the path by Nath AU - While waiting for Arwen and those accompanying her to arrive in Edoras, Halbarad is not feeling quite his usual self.
Gollum's Scheme by WendWriter How did Gollum contrive to escape from the Elves?

I hope you will check out the stories, and let the authors know how you liked them!

And authors, please feel free to post your stories at Many Paths to Tread, where they will be gathered as part of the 2010 March series. Also, remember that late entries are always welcome!
